Movement and Manual therapy in Boulder, CO
My work is aimed to correct both the structure and the function of your physical body while teaching you specific methods for maintaining your results and continually expanding your awareness and control over your body. Including a thorough moving and static postural assessment, we begin by releasing restrictions in your body paying particular attention to the symptomatic pain you are experiencing.
This may include one or more of the following; Zen Bodytherapy TM and Anatomy Trains based Structural Integration to release restrictions in your network of fascia, Energy-Active Craniosacral Work and other Osteopathic techniques to release restrictions in your skeleton, viscera and other connective tissues, and Thomas Hanna based Somatics as well as Deep Tissue techniques to release any muscular restrictions. Next, we balance these tissues in your body systemically and in relation to gravity. (The first and second steps have quite a bit of overlap). During this process we gradually reprogram your neuro-motor system, unlearning maladaptive movement patterns and creating more efficient patterns. As part of each session you will learn a series of exercises that not only maintain your results but continue to develop your awareness and refine conscious control over your muscles and your movements.
Keep in mind that somatic dysfunction and its accompanying pain cannot always be released through structural and functional techniques alone. In these cases, I offer transformational bodywork utilizing the modalities of Energy-Active Craniosacral Work,Zen Shiatsu and the water based modalities ofWatsu and Waterdance.
